Analog EEG Service

Our analog EEG service is available to any and all hospitals.  This service is ideal for hospitals/clinics that cannot afford digital EEG equipment or those that do not have a neurologist on staff.  Our analog service will provide you with an EEG transmitter and a neurologist to provide the interpretations as well as constant technical support.

By utilizing a T1.5 telephone circuit (24 lines) at the Houston Center, a patient can be prepared for a test and the data immediately transmitted, No Appointment Necessary.  The Houston Center is available for receiving patient tests 24 hours a day, every day of the year.  A hospital employee prepares the patient, establishes a phone line connection, and then assists the receiving technician in producing a record for interpretation.  The transmitting time involved is approximately 20-30 minutes with constant two-way communication in order to ensure an optimal recording.  The physicians contracted with TELEMEDX for professional interpretation are always available for clinical discussions with attending physicians.

The TELEMEDX transmitter is compact and portable, enabling patient testing to be performed outside the department, such as the patient’s room, E.R., or in ICU.  A telemetry system will be provided to your facility along with the necessary operational training to your existing health personnel, thus eliminating the need for another FTE.  TMX complies with all rules and regulations of the applicable standards of The Joint Commission.

When an EEG is ordered, there is no need to schedule an appointment with TMX. Simply call the toll free line provided during normal business hours and begin your transmission. TMX will e-mail, fax, and/or mail the physician's report to your hospital guaranteed within 24 hours from the time of receipt.  Our current report turnaround time is averaging 3-5 hours but as always, you will receive it within the guaranteed 24-hour window.  Weekend, holiday, or after-hours transmissions will be faxed /e-mailed the next business day.  The receiving center’s normal operating hours are 7:00 am to 5:00 PM (CST) Monday – Friday. Coverage is provided as an on-call basis for STAT EEG’s needed outside of the normal operating hours or on holidays.
